The UK's Technology Strategy
Through being involved in the KTN, you have the opportunity to shape the UK’s emerging Technology Strategy. The Strategy is overseen by a Technology Strategy Board, which has identified Modelling and Simulation as one of the key components. The Industrial Mathematics KTN has developed the initial strategy in this area by coordinating input from industry, the public sector and academia.
We are now looking to focus on particular priority areas in support of the wider Technology Strategy. Within each priority area we are establishing an Industrial Strategy Panel (ISP), to look more closely at the potential opportunities and impact for Modelling and Simulation, leading to the construction of roadmaps and action plans for the strategic development of new capability and capacity.
We plan to look at nine priority areas over the first 3 years of the KTN, and the first four of these have now been chosen:
- Intelligent Transport Systems
- Uncertainty and Risk in Energy Supply
- Waste Management
- Financial Products
If you would like to participate in the ISP programme, please contact Dr Keith Winters, our Industrial Strategy Coordinator.
