The 46th European Study Group with Industry was held at the Burwalls Conference Centre, University of Bristol, 31st March to 4th April 2003, and was supported by the Faraday Partnership for Industrial Mathematics, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the London Mathematical Society.
The meeting was opened by Prof Bernard Silverman. Many thanks are due to Dr Eddie Wilson and his colleagues in Bristol's Department of Engineering Mathematics, who ensured that the assembled problem-solvers could devote their attentions to just that, distracted only slightly by the wonderful setting. The presenting companies were Unilever, Motorola, SATRA Technology, Westland Helicopters, Trikon, Spinox, Bristol Zoo Gardens and Advanced Transport Systems. Eight problems were tackled, the details of which are available by following the links below.
