Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and the Knowledge Transfer Networks for Industrial Mathematics and for Financial Services held a workshop as part of the activities of the Environmental Risk Management Special Interest Group (ERM-SIG). The the topic of the workshop was Uncertainty and Risk Visualisation and the workshop was held at Lloyd's of London on the 11 May 2010.
As part of the workshop, Professor David Spiegelhalter gave a talk on his work and research on risk visualisation and communicating uncertainty.
In 2007, Professor Spiegelhalter was elected Winton Professor of the Public Understanding of Risk in the Statistical Laboratory, University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Churchill College. He divides his work between the Statistical Laboratory and the Medical Research Council Biostatistics Unit.
