Information for companies

Financial Information and Application Procedure

Companies will pay 50% of the basic cost for their first Internship, followed by an increase of 10% for each subsequent Internship, up to the maximum 100% (£14,800 for 6 months). For the first internship, the standard company contributions for 3, 4, 5 and 6 month Internships are given below:

  • 3-month Internship will be £4,700 + VAT
  • 4-month Internship will be £5,600 + VAT
  • 5-month Internship will be £6,500 + VAT
  • 6-month Internship will be £7,400 + VAT

In addition, companies will be expected to bear the cost of any travel and subsistence incurred by the Intern in relation to the Internship.

If you require an assistance in finding a suitable academic partner for an Internship, please complete as much of the application form as possible and then contact Dr Vera Hazelwood at the Industrial Mathematics KTN. We would be delighted to provide a free assistance in identifying a suitable intern drawing on our connections with all UK universities that have PhD students in mathematical fields.

Application Form

The Application Form will be completed an academic, an industrialist and a PhD student outlining the Internship work plan. We also welcome partially completed Applications where applicants require assistance in identifying an academic partner.

Confidentiality Agreement template

The Industrial Mathematics KTN strongly recommends that a symmetric Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) be put in place and signed by the four parties in the Internship: the Research Group, the Intern, the Host Company and the Industrial Mathematics KTN.
