Study Group 2008 now open for problems
The 2008 Study Group, to be held at Heriot-Watt University on 7-11 April 2008, is now open for problems. Companies wishing to present a problem to ESGI 2008 should contact Dr David Allwright to reserve a problem slot.

Managing risk in the modern world - Applications of Bayesian Networks
The Knowledge Transfer report from the London Mathematical Society and the Industrial Mathematics KTN on application of Bayesian Networks - authored by Norman Fenton and Martin Neil - has been published in November 2007.

Industrial-scale Software Verification - KTN Workshop
The KTN Workshop on Industrial-scale Software Verification will be held on 12-14 March 2008 at the Microsoft Research Cambridge. The workshop is being organised by the Industrial Mathematics KTN, in collaboration with Microsoft Cambridge and GC6. You can register your expression of interest by contacting Dr Rebecca Gower.

Industrial Inverse Problems workshop
Leeds University will be hosting a workshop on Industrial Inverse Problems on 17th and 18th March 2008. Industrialists and academics are invited to register their interest in this workshop, which will be facilitated by the Industrial Mathematics KTN.

Challenges in Quantitative Risk Management for Insurance - KTN Finance workshop: presentations and report available
The second KTN Finance Workshop "Challenges in Quantitative Risk Management for Insurance" was held on 29 November at the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences in Edinburgh jointly organised by the Maxwell Institute and the Industrial Mathematics KTN. The presentations and the report on the workshop's outcomes are now available. This workshop is part of a series of KTN Finance Workshops the Industrial Mathematics KTN is organising in collaboration with various partners.

Technology Strategy Board Collaborative R&D Autumn 2007 Competition
On 8th November 2007 the Technology Strategy Board announced a new competition for proposals for collaborative research and development, representing a Government investment in innovation of around £100million.

ECMI2008 deadline for contributed and mini-symposia abstracts and poster proposals: 18 January 2008
Between 30 June and 4 July 2008, the Biennial Conference of the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI) comes to the UK for the first time in 20 years. The KTN for Industrial Mathematics is proud to be one of the conference's main sponsors. The deadline for contributed abstracts, mini-symposia abstracts and poster proposals is 18 January 2008.
