Study Group 2010 is open for problems
The 2010 Study Group to be held at University of Warwick on 12-16 April 2010, is open for problems. Companies wishing to present a problem to ESGI 2010 should contact Dr David Allwright to reserve a problem slot.

Internships Expressions of Interest: seeking PhD students for Industrial Mathematics Internships
Internship projects currently seeking PhD students are in the areas of:
- Pattern recognition of complex 3D optical structures imaged by a moving camera - from Staplethorne Ltd (Honiton)
- Simulation techniques for through-life modelling and analysis - from Agusta Westland (Yeovil)
- Parallel computation of catastrophe modelling events - from Willis (London)
- Advanced algorithms for scientific computing - from NAG (Oxford)

1st CUDA Developers' Conference, Oxford, 7 December 2009
In partnership with NVIDIA, Supermicro and NAG, the Industrial Mathematics KTN is hosting the 1st UK CUDA Developers' Conference in the Oxford e-Research Centre on 7 December 2009 from 10:00 to 18:00. This is an opportunity to find out about the research that others are doing using CUDA programming on NVIDIA GPUs, and learn the latest about NVIDIA's new Fermi GPU architecture.

Underpinning Defence Mathematics Programme
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is supporting a Programme of Underpinning Defence Mathematics (UDM) through the Industrial Mathematics KTN. The main objectives of the UDM Programme are to engage underpinning mathematical capability new to MoD; identify the best mathematical ideas and solutions through open competition and create new collaborations for knowledge transfer through Internships.

Dependency Modelling courses, London, 18 November 2009
The Actuarial Profession is running dependency modelling courses which aim to bridge the gap between industry practice and the latest thinking on dependency modelling. The course combines the latest theory and practical thinking in the areas of multivariate distributions, and calibration of copulas with examples that demonstrate how to apply these techniques to real world problems. The course will take place from 18-20 November 2009.
