Alan Tayler Lecture
The 2007 Alan Tayler Lecture will be delivered by Prof Ian Stewart of the University of Warwick. The lecture entitled "Symmetries in biological and physical networks" will be held on 26th November 2007 at 5pm in the Bernard Sunley Building, St Catherine's College in Oxford.

KTN Finance workshop: Challenges in Quantitative Risk Management for Insurance
The second workshop of the KTN Finance series KTN "Challenges in Quantitative Risk Management for Insurance" will be held on 29 November at the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Edinburgh jointly organised by the Maxwell Institute and the KTN. The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) is hosting Innovate 07 on 8th November 2007 in London. Innovate 07 is a major annual conference and exhibition which aims to work towards answers to such questions as "Where will the next innovation-based markets be?" and "How can innovative businesses transform great ideas into real services and products?".

ECMI2008
Between 30 June and 4 July 2008, the Biennial Conference of the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI) comes to the UK for the first time in 20 years. The KTN for Industrial Mathematics is proud to be one of the conference's main sponsors.

Two CASE Awards now recruiting
Two Industrial CASE Award projects are now looking for talented students. The first project "Reliability Assessment Using Bayesian Criticality Analysis" is based at Aston University in collaboration with Rolls-Royce plc; whereas the second project "Glass Corrosion: Parameter estimation in reaction diffusion problems" is based at Imperial College London in collaboration with Pilkington Group Limited.
