Industrial Mathematics Internships launch
The launch of the Industrial Mathematics Internships Programme will be held at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Savoy Place, London, on the evening of 18 September 2007. The launch will be attended by industrialists, academics, and representatives from government and the public sector.

Study Group 2007: two more reports available
The 59th European Study Group with Industry - held at the University of Nottingham in March 2007 - handled six problems and the participating companies were BAE Systems, Norsk Hydro, Schlumberger, TMS Photometrics and Unilever. The final reports for the Norsk Hydro problem, for the BAE Systems problem, for the TMS Photometrics and for one of the Unilever problems are now available online. The remaining reports will appear on the website shortly.

Technology Translator wins IoP prize
Dr Vera Hazelwood, one of the Industrial Mathematics KTN's experienced Technology Translators, has been awarded the IoP prize for Best PhD Thesis in Computational Physics 2006.

KTN Finance workshop: report available
The KTN Finance Workshop "Fast Financial Algorithms and Computing" was held on 4 July at the Tanaka Business School jointly organised by the Imperial College and the KTN. A report is now available. This workshop is part of a series of Finance Workshops the Industrial Mathematics KTN is organising in collaboration with various partners.

Two CASE Awards now recruiting
Two Industrial CASE Award projects are now looking for talented students. The first project "Reliability Assessment Using Bayesian Criticality Analysis" is based at Aston University in collaboration with Rolls-Royce plc; whereas the second project "Glass Corrosion: Parameter estimation in reaction diffusion problems" is based at Imperial College London in collaboration with Pilkington Group Limited.
