The Industrial Mathematics KTN Interim Annual Report has been published. It covers developments in the Industrial Mathematics KTN since the most recent Annual Report was published in November 2006.
The Industrial Mathematics KTN had a very successful first year, during which we
- allocated 11 CASE Awards to companies collaborating in the mathematical sciences;
- coordinated another vibrant Study Group solving several industrial problems;
- increased our team by 3 staff in response to the opportunities that we see emerging;
- engaged an increasing number of companies across sectors and UK universities in our network.
In support of the wider Technology Strategy we plan to focus on particular areas during the next year where the Industrial Mathematics KTN will be particularly well placed to provide a forum for a coherent business voice to inform government of its technology needs and about issues. We are now targeting the financial services and retail sectors as priority areas.
We are looking forward to another year of major opportunities and successful outcomes.
