The 56th European Study Group with Industry, to be held at the University of Bath from 3rd to 7th April 2006, is now open for problems.

The Study Group will follow the usual format of industrial problem presentations on the first day, followed by intensive work on the problem by participants during the next three days and presentations by the academics on the final day. A report on each problem will be prepared after the meeting. Previous Study Group problems demonstrate how the Study Group delivers benefit to a full range of industrial sectors and technologies. Companies are welcome to discuss potential problems for the Study Group with Smith Institute Technology Translators. In the first instance, Companies should contact Heather Tewkesbury with a short description of the problem. The problem fee for companies is £3,000 + VAT. Industrialists should note that the Study Group is an open event, with no formal confidentiality arrangements in place. The Smith Institute can advise on various ways of accounting for commercial sensitivities. Problem descriptions will be posted on the University of Bath's website as they are confirmed. Problem solvers wishing to participate are very welcome to attend with free accommodation and should register here. Postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and Masters students are particularly encouraged to participate.
