Mathematics 2008, London, 24 April 2008

The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) is holding a one day conference on mathematics and its applications for the present day on 24 April 2008 at The Institute of Actuaries, Staple Inn Hall, High Holborn, London.

The aim of the conference is to bring together people with an interest in mathematics and its applications to consider current issues in the subject. The conference topics will cover mathematics education at school and higher levels; research topics in mathematics; and industrial applications of mathematics. These topics will be of interest to both mathematicians and those working with mathematicians as the presentations will address the impact of the work rather than emphasise its technical nature. The conference will give an opportunity for informal and formal discussion between people who are interested in a variety of areas in mathematics.
