The Technology Strategy Board is holding a competition for funding workshop on 18th September 2008 at the Belfry in the West Midlands. The workshop is a joint initiative of the Intelligent Transport Systems and Services Innovation Platform (ITSS-IP) of the Technology Strategy Board, and the ITS KTN.

The ITSS-IP sets out to provide interventions and financial support, with the objective of overcoming barriers when implementing effective solutions using Intelligent Transport Systems. The focus of the ITSS-IP is “Moving People and Goods More Intelligently”, with the aims of:

• overcoming issues associated with people travel
• tackling traffic related issues such as
• traffic network management
• congestion
• user travel information
• safety
• crime
• infrastructure
• vehicle connectivity.

This intervention for Informed Personal Travel sets out to start a process of education by identifying systems or services that can expedite the provision of accurate real time information to aid the traveler.
