An Evening Lecture with Prof Steve Jones & Prof Jim Al-Khalili, Lighthill Institute, 27 October 2009

The Lighthill Institute of Mathematical Sciences is hosting an evening lecture with Prof Steve Jones & Prof Jim Al-Khalili, on 27th October 2009 from 17:30 to 21:00.

The programme is as follows:

Human Evolution: Has is stopped? Professor Steve Jones (University College London)

Steve was awarded the Royal Society Faraday Medal for public understanding of science in 1997, the BP Natural World Book Prize in 2000 and the Institute of Biology Charter Medal in 2002. Steve is also the President of the Galton Institute. Steve is one of the world’s best known Biologists and popular science writers.

Quantum Mechanics, how weird is it? Professor Jim Al-Khalili (University of Surrey)

Jim is a British scientist, author and broadcaster. He is a professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Surrey where he also holds a chair in the Public Engagement in Science. Jim was awarded the Royal Society Michael Faraday Prize for Science Communication in 2007 and an OBE in the 2008 Birthday Honours.

The lectures will be held at the Bloomsbury Theatre, University College London.
