Location of faults and discontinuities will be more accurately predicted during gas and oil exploration. Information about potential oil reservoirs can be inferred, e.g. volume of oil, fractions of oil, water, gas in the reservoir, connectivity of the reservoir. The uncertainty in the results will be quantified.
